Program Name: Advanced Programs, "Global Studies and Maritime Affairs"
The general objective
Students who majored in "Global Studies and Maritime Affairs," are equipped with the following knowledge:
- Theoretical background of the social sciences, applied in accordance with the growing needs of transport industry in general and shipping it separately.
- The appropriate knowledge to work in government agencies and local non-profit organizations, international organizations and the maritime business; have a solid foundation of economic theory and global politics;theories of policy-making processes; the understanding of the global maritime history and the importance of maritime power to the power of a nation; aware of the global maritime issues existing as security, trade and the environment.
- The theoretical knowledge necessary to understand the issues of maritime policy in the world's increasing globalization; understanding of business policies in maritime trade, especially critical thinking skills, research ability or non-quantified amount, leadership skills and cultural awareness.
Specific Objectives
Field of study focused on four areas:
- International Maritime Security: Focus on maritime issues stem from aspects of maritime security as the various threats to coastal areas or nearby coastal areas, or those at risk for with international maritime network.The research topics include maritime security, piracy and maritime terrorism, illegal immigration, inadvertent intrusion waters, changes in Navy policies of countries in the world ...
- Environmental Policy International Maritime: Focus on environmental issues related to maritime transport worldwide. This content is not limited to the size of transport policy and business, but also extended to the general maritime policy. For example, the management policies fishing and whaling products, the environmental standards of the shipbuilding industry.
- Maritime Law and Maritime Organization: This field focuses on law and international maritime organizations, for example the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS III), the International Maritime Organization IMO, Bureau of goods IMB International Maritime.
- Business and the International Maritime policy: Focusing research on frontier issues hangh economic aspects of international politics. As economic globalization is one of the most important events of the early 21st century and globalization has made economic trade and business relations better economy countries, the sector should focus examined the change in the form of trade and international transportation due to the impact of globalization in the shipping industry and the effects of economic globalization on political issues on.
Education duration and degree
- Education time: 5 years
+ Year 1: Additional Knowledge: Strengthening additional courses in English and Political Theory, Physical Education, Education 1 defense in accordance with requirements of the Ministry of Education and Training.
+ Year 2-5: The specialized subjects
- Degree: Bachelor Degree in "Global Studies and Maritime Affairs"
Employment Opportunities
Upon graduation students are prepared for positions in planning and policy making in the field of trade and economic maritime, maritime security and maritime law, can work in the following areas here:
- Government Organizations, Chamber of Commerce and Industry National or Local, Ministry of Transport, Maritime Bureau, Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Planning Department, the Department of Strategic Studies, the Department of Legal Policy at the relevant ministries, research institutes, organizations and policy makers;
- The organizations related to maritime security, and maritime border policies islands as customs, border police, the relevant departments of the Ministry of Transport;
- The agencies ensure maritime safety, search and rescue, maritime security, port authorities at the port;
- The International Maritime Organization as the International Maritime Organization IMO International Maritime Bureau IMB;
- The research organization of international maritime law and maritime law firms;
- The transportation companies, marine insurance department research plan, strategize.
