INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF EDUCATION – VIETNAM MARITIME UNIVERSITY
ACADEMIC YEAR REVIEW & BUSINESS FORUM: CAREER READINESS IN THE DIGITAL AGE – CONNECTING KNOWLEDGE, SHAPING THE FUTURE
As another academic year comes to a close, marked by continued efforts in education and student development, the International School of Education (ISE) at Vietnam Maritime University organizes the Academic Year Review and Business Forum under the theme “Career Readiness in the Digital Age: Business Perspectives and Career Guidance for Students.” The program provides an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the academic year while strengthening connections among the university, businesses, and students, helping students shape their career paths and enhance their adaptability to the rapidly evolving labor market.
In an era when digital transformation is reshaping every sector of the economy, professional knowledge alone is no longer sufficient. Students need to develop innovative thinking, communication skills, teamwork capabilities, technological adaptability, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Therefore, strengthening industry partnerships and integrating practical business perspectives into education remain key priorities for ISE.
A highlight of the program is the Business Forum, featuring experienced speakers in management, marketing, and supply chain management, invited through ISE’s industry connections:
-
Mr. Tran Anh Tuan – Deputy General Director, New World Fashion Group.
-
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh – Marketing Director, Sao Do Group.
-
Mr. Quach Minh Dung – Head of Supply Chain Management, Hai Phong Branch.

During the forum, the speakers shared practical insights into recruitment requirements, career development trends, and the competencies businesses expect from young professionals in the digital age. Drawing on their experience in management and business operations, they offered valuable perspectives on workplace culture, professional mindset, technical skills, and adaptability, helping students gain a clearer understanding of their career paths and future development opportunities.
Beyond providing information, the forum offered students valuable opportunities to engage directly with industry experts and raise questions about their studies and preparation for entering the labor market. These exchanges helped students better understand the gap between academic knowledge and real-world business expectations, enabling them to identify the skills they need to develop, the experiences they should gain, and the goals they should pursue in their future careers.
For ISE, the program represents more than an academic year review; it reflects the School’s commitment to practice-oriented education, a student-centered approach, and stronger collaboration with industry. Through such initiatives, ISE continues to foster a dynamic, internationally oriented learning environment where students can develop professional knowledge, career skills, and a global mindset.
The end of one academic year marks the beginning of a new journey. The insights shared by business leaders, meaningful conversations, and practical career guidance provided during the forum will serve as valuable resources for ISE students, empowering them to pursue personal growth with greater confidence, embrace new opportunities, and adapt proactively to the demands of the digital age.
The International School of Education sincerely thanks all speakers and participating businesses for their time, support, and valuable contributions to our students. The continued partnership between academia and industry remains a vital foundation for developing high-quality graduates who can meet the evolving needs of both domestic and international labor markets.
