The 2017 Sports Festival of Vietnam Maritime University (VMU)

The Sports Festival is an annual event organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union at Vietnam Maritime University (VMU) for all students, featuring various sports such as football, basketball, athletics, tug-of-war, and more.

On the occasion of the 86th anniversary of the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2017) and the 61st anniversary of Vietnam Maritime University's founding (April 1, 1956 - April 1, 2017), the Youth Union of VMU organized the 2017 Sports Festival for all students with a variety of sports including football, basketball, athletics, swimming, tug-of-war, and sack racing.

The Youth Union of the International School of Education (ISE) has actively participated in the university-wide sports event for several years, excelling in various sports and achieving high results.

In football, last week, the ISE Football Club had two friendly matches with the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The team is now preparing for upcoming official matches against the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering on the morning of March 21 and the Faculty of Civil Engineering on the morning of March 23.

Basketball: After several days of training and practice matches, the basketball team composed of players from the International School of Education and the Faculty of Economics will officially take the court on the afternoon of March 28.

Track and Field: On the morning of March 27, the athletics competition will take place, including events such as the 100m, 200m, 800m women’s run, and 1500m men’s run.

Tug of War and Sack Race: These are the two sports in which the Institute has achieved the highest results. Previous cohorts demonstrated great teamwork and solidarity by winning the Tug of War championship for three consecutive years. Will this year’s team continue the winning streak? Join us for Tug of War and Sack Race on the morning of March 18!
